What's a same-day crown?
A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that covers a damaged, weak or heavily filled tooth to bring back its strength and shape. The old way meant a messy impression, a temporary crown for two or three weeks, and a second visit. With our in-house mill, we skip all of that.
Why you might need one
- A cracked or broken tooth
- A large filling that's failed or weakened the tooth
- After a root canal, to protect the tooth
- Decay too big for a regular filling
- Reshaping a discolored or misshapen tooth
How it works
We numb the area, prepare the tooth and take a quick digital scan. No putty, no gagging. The scan goes into our design software, where we shape the crown to fit your bite. Our mill carves it from a solid block of ceramic, we polish and color-match it, and bond it in place. Most people are in and out in one visit.
Same-day vs. lab crowns
Lab crowns aren't lower quality, but they mean weeks in a temporary that can loosen or feel off, plus a second appointment. Same-day crowns give you the finished result right away.
