What X-rays catch
A lot of dental problems hide in places we can't see during a regular exam. X-rays help us spot them early, while they're smaller and easier to fix.
- Cavities between teeth or under old fillings
- Bone loss from gum disease
- Infections at the root of a tooth
- Impacted or crowded wisdom teeth
- How a tooth is healing after treatment
How often you need them
We take X-rays only as often as you actually need them, usually once a year for most adults. If you're having pain or a specific problem, we may take one to see exactly what's going on.
