What the video covers
- Here's what to expect when you get a filling.
- A filling repairs a small area of decay, called a cavity, before it has a chance to grow deeper into the tooth.
- First, we'll numb the area so you stay comfortable. You may feel some pressure, but you shouldn't feel any pain.
- Next, we gently remove the soft, decayed part of the tooth, leaving only healthy tooth behind.
- Then we fill the space with a tooth-colored material, placed in thin layers and matched to the shade of your tooth.
- A gentle blue light hardens each layer in just a few seconds.
- Finally, we check your bite and polish the filling, so it feels smooth and natural.
- The numbness wears off in a few hours. After that, care for it like any other tooth. Brush twice a day, floss daily, and keep up with your regular checkups.
- If you have any questions along the way, just ask. Your dental team is always happy to help.
